In this podcast Dr Shaadi Manouchehri will discuss all things dentistry including, but not limited to, common dental conditions and treatments. The show welcomes guests regularly, including dental professionals and experts in their fields as well as patients who will share their personal journey and hopefully provide some entertainment along the way! This podcast may also at times feature alternative but relevant topics such as social media and dentists, mental health and facial aesthetics. Dr Shaadi is a cosmetic dentist based in London having graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, followed by completing postgraduate training posts in specialist fields including paediatric dentistry, restorative dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She regularly features in dental journals and has recently published “How to Get into Dental School”, a beginner’s guide for prospective dental students.

Dr Linda Greenwall is a Prosthodontist and Specialist in Restorative Dentistry. She lectures in the UK and internationally on tooth whitening, aesthetic dentistry and practice management. In June 2017 she was honoured by the Queen in her birthday honours to receive the British Empire Medal for her Service to Dentistry in the UK and Abroad. In 2011, Dr Greenwall established the Dental Wellness Trust Charity which has the motto “Oral Health through Dental Wellness”.
In this episode, Dr Greenwall shares how she manages stress and how important it is to take a break and recharge in order to be your best self. We discuss the importance of having a digital detox and disconnecting from time to time in order to “Sharpen the Saw”. Dr Greenwall discusses the causes of teeth discolouration including extrinsic and intrinsic causes and conditions such as Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation that may present as white or brown patches on the teeth. We talk about the new teeth whitening trends that we’ve seen on social media platforms such as TikTok and just how dangerous they can be. Dr Greenwall also discusses her extensive research on teeth whitening including the effectiveness of over the counter products.

Dr Ikram was born in Christchurch New Zealand and obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago university. After graduation he worked in New Zealand and then moved to London. After completing his general stream Fellowship for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, he gained entry into specialist training at King’s College London. His research was published in the International Endodontic journal.
After completing Specialist training Omar moved to Sydney where he established his private practice in Sydney’s North Shore. He currently also works at the Sydney Dental hospital treating the NSW State public waiting list, for those unable to access private treatment. Omar has a passion for teaching dentists and dental students via hands on courses and his social media pages.
In this episode Dr Omar explains the process of root canal treatment in simple terms and also explains why antibiotics alone will not treat the dental infection and are often unnecessary. We talk about the root cause documentary and what Dr Omar- a specialist endodontist- really thinks about the claims made in the documentary.

Dr Wadia is a specialist periodontist having completed her specialist training programme at King’s College London and her undergraduate training at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr Wadia is very enthusiastic about teaching and lectures internationally as well as run courses for both newly qualified dentists as well as hygienists. She was a clinical tutor at Barts and The London for 5 years and is now an associate specialist at King’s College Hospital. She enjoys sharing what she learns through her dental blog and is a co-editor for the British Dental Journal.
In this episode we talk about gum disease and why it can remain undetected for some time until the damage becomes irreversible. Dr Wadia explains what periodontal disease is in simple terms and the predisposing risk factors. We talk about the importance of oral hygiene in periodontal care and Dr Wadia discusses an ideal oral hygiene routine. We also talk about gum recession, how it occurs and how it can be treated.

Dr Nina Bal is a Cosmetic Dental Surgeon and Facial Aesthetics Doctor who, in 2008, graduated at the top of her year with distinction (BDS magna cum laude), and gained a highly respected diploma after completing a one-year Postgraduate in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry in London. You might recognise Dr Nina from TV as Dr Nina is the official cosmetic dentist in the Series 2 of the UK Tv Show Bodyfixers on E4 and from This Morning Show with Holly and Phil on ITV. Dr Nina and her work have been featured many times in Forbes, Evening Standard, Harvard, Metro, Tatler, The Times, The Sun, Sunday Mirror, Thrive Global and Adweek just to name a few.
Dr Nina is the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2018 WINNER in the Facial Aesthetics category. In 2017 she was shortlisted as one of the best young dentists in the UK by the highly prestigious Dental Awards.
In this episode we talk about what facial aesthetics is and some of Dr Nina’s most popular procedures. We also discuss using facial aesthetics in conjuction with dentistry to treat conditions such as “gummy smile”. Dr Manrina Rhode graduated from Guys Hospital London in 2002 and has since become known as one of the top cosmetic dentists in the UK. She continued her education at the top institutions around the world, achieving a Masters level in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry at the prestigious New York Dental Institute and Advanced Occlusion Techniques in Florida. Dr Rhode continues to upgrade her skills and knowledge as technological advances demand.

Anna studied at the Eastman Dental Hospital after working as a dental nurse and graduated in 2015 from the Faculty of Royal College of Surgeons. Since qualifying, Anna has attracted an ever-growing and loyal customer base from the public, press and celebrities alike.
