In this podcast Dr Shaadi Manouchehri will discuss all things dentistry including, but not limited to, common dental conditions and treatments. The show welcomes guests regularly, including dental professionals and experts in their fields as well as patients who will share their personal journey and hopefully provide some entertainment along the way! This podcast may also at times feature alternative but relevant topics such as social media and dentists, mental health and facial aesthetics. Dr Shaadi is a cosmetic dentist based in London having graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, followed by completing postgraduate training posts in specialist fields including paediatric dentistry, restorative dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She regularly features in dental journals and has recently published “How to Get into Dental School”, a beginner’s guide for prospective dental students.

Dr Jana Denzel is an award-winning dentist and honorary global ambassador for Slow Dentistry. These awards and positions recognise his outstanding contribution to improving the quality of dentistry in practice, in education, on the lecture circuit and with the general public.
Jana lectures internationally on the subject of dental psychology and dental anxiety. He harnesses his expertise in psychology alongside his dental clinical practice. He has been most recently named Young Best Dentist - London and Clinical Director of Manchester Imaging Limited.
In this episode, Jana shares his experience of studying dentistry abroad in Valencia where he first became interested in artificial intelligence after noticing the differences in opinions from different and even same individuals regarding radiographic diagnoses. This led to him pursuing his interest and his recent achievement of being appointed the Clinical Director of Manchester Imaging Limited.

Dr Zainab is a dental surgeon who qualified from Guy’s Kings & St Thomas’ Dental Institute with Distinction in 2010. With an early interest in the art of cosmetic dentistry, Dr Zainab made the most of her early years as a dentist completing her post graduate training in aesthetic dentistry for which she holds a certificate.
A keen artist, Dr Zainab also developed a passion for facial aesthetic medicine and has undertaken extensive training in advanced facial contouring with dermal fillers and wrinkle-relaxing injections with Botox ™️. She is widely experienced in performing non-surgical face lifts, cheek and chin augmentation and jawline defining, as well as non-surgical rhinoplasty. Dr Zainab was selected to be a facial aesthetics trainer and demonstrator for Oris Medical at the Royal College of General Practitioners where she teaches fellow doctors and dentists how to deliver safe and effective treatment.
In this episode, Dr Zainab shares how she pursued her passion in both aesthetic dentistry and facial aesthetics and how she currently divides her time between the two. Dr Zainab also shares her experience of managing her private dental and aesthetics practice with her husband whilst looking after their young family. We discuss the current challenges faced by recent dental graduates and our advice on how to tackle these.

Neggi, now a third year dental student, moved to Stockholm four years ago in order to pursue her dental dreams after getting rejected from British dental schools TWICE. Having grown up in England, she had to learn Swedish in order to get into dental school in Sweden and hasn’t looked back since.
Through her instagram account @theforeignflossophy she documents her new life in Stockholm as well as her dental school journey. Neggi seeks to inspire others to embrace a non- traditional path into the career and truly believes rejection shouldn’t be seen as a disadvantage but rather an opportunity for something better.
In this episode Neggi shares her experience of moving to Sweden to study dentistry after realising her passion for the subject during her undergraduate degree studying biomedicine at King’s College London and after rejection from UK dental schools.

Rupert is a general dentist working in Reading with a particular interest in removable prosthodontics. This led to him forming the #ImpressionClub which has developed into a weekly Instagram live session, podcast and newsletter. Rupert is also a passionate member of the International Team for Implantology and is a member of the Young ITI committee.

Ali & Zoh run a YouTube channel called Two Dentists where they create educational dental videos. Ali is currently a final year dental student at the University of Newcastle and Zoh is a foundation dentist working in London. They have known each other since primary school and have managed to combine their passion for technology with dentistry to create dental videos.

Dr Milad Shadrooh qualified in 2004 from Barts and The London and he runs a successful dental practice in Basingstoke, Hampshire where his main interest is cosmetic dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, music is his main passion, and he has combined this with dentistry to hit the headlines as the "Singing Dentist", with his educational and very entertaining dental parody songs. He has gained a huge following on social media with his online videos gaining over 250 million views combined. He has also transitioned onto mainstream TV, establishing himself as the go-to media clinician with appearances on This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, BBC News, Sky News and countless radio stations. He has written for and been written about in numerous publications and has been voted the Number 1 Most Influential person in Dentistry 3 times in the last 4 years. He is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable dentists in the world and he has managed to bridge the gap between the dentist and the general public, and as a result, patients travel from all over the world to see him in his clinic.
In this episode Dr Milad and I talk about how The Singing Dentist was created and how he balances social media development with practicing clinical dentistry. We talk about FOMO and comparison to others. Dr Milad also shares his advice to young dentists starting out on their journey.

Dr Christina Diamanti is a cosmetic dentist & facial aesthetics practitioner in North West London. She graduated from Newcastle University and then moved to London to complete her Dental Foundation Training and Dental Core Training in Restorative, Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. She currently works part time as a dental associate and part time as a Speciality Doctor in Oral Surgery for the LNWH NHS Trust.
Although Christina and I had similar backgrounds in dental core training at Guy’s Hospital and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, our experiences were very different and in this episode we talk about all the positive aspects as well as the challenges. We talk about everything we did wrong from calling the consultant on the first day to fainting in theatres and advice we would give to those considering dental core training.
